Roy and “Sonja” on Antiques Road Show Monday!!!

Monday May 7, 2012 PBS Antiques Roadshow will air the first of a three part series filmed in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Last year Antiques Roadshow came to Minneapolis to do the filming for the shows and Roy and my mom ventured out together, each with their different items. Roy Blakey brought a costume and headdress once belonging to the great skater Sonja Henie, and he was chosen to be interviewed on camera for the MN episode, which will have it’s premiere on Monday!

Roy (and I) have been invited to TPT in St. Paul, MN for an event on Thursday at the station to celebrate the show. Roy will bring the Sonja Henie beaded and feathered costume and his Time Magazine issue with Sonja wearing the costume on the cover. Roy and others will sit on a panel where I presume he will talk about his item or the experience of being a part of Antiques Roadshow. I am so happy for him and I am happy for the ice show world as Sonja deserves more time in the spotlight!
